Overview

Join Rack Electric as a Residential Service Electrician. Start each day knowing you’ll solve real problems for homeowners across South Florida. At Rack Electric, you’ll head out from our Boca Raton area with a company vehicle, tackle a variety of residential (and occasional light commercial) projects, and wrap up with accurate documentation so the next job runs just as smoothly.

A day in the life.

Responsibilities
  • Inspect electrical components on-site and scope the full task at hand.
  • Diagnose issues quickly and accurately in the field.
  • Perform voltage and load testing as required for each assignment.
  • Complete work orders on schedule and finish end-of-day paperwork.
  • Lead by example—guide and oversee apprentices or journeymen on the crew.
  • Attend scheduled company meetings to align on safety, quality, and customer standards.
  • Work across both residential and commercial settings as needed.
  • Operate a company vehicle to reach customer sites.
Qualifications
  • Residential experience is required and you must live within a 35-minute commute of our Boca Raton office (local candidates only).
  • Solid grasp of the National Electrical Code and local code requirements.
  • Hands-on rough-in skills: boxing, running MC cable, bending EMT, relocating light fixture boxes, setting recessed cans, and switch gear installation.
  • Experience with 3-phase and multiple voltage systems.
  • Ability to identify materials and prepare accurate material lists for varied tasks/installs.
  • Proficient reading of blueprints, drawings, and diagrams.
  • Confident bending and running conduit.
  • Test systems and circuits to verify safe, proper operation.
  • Troubleshoot and perform repairs or replacements as needed.
  • Install and connect conductors to breakers, transformers, outlets, and related components.
  • Self-driven with strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Clean driver’s license.
  • Drug free.
