Maintenance Technician / Mechanic, Installation Technician
Position Summary: The Residential Service Technician is a troubleshooter and service expert responsible for alleviating concerns customers may have regarding a security system, advising customers and the customer care center on system status, and conducting inspections.
Responsibilities- Services fire and carbon monoxide detection, networking, hosted video solutions, and access control.
- Follow and complete required processes of wired/wireless technology and connection procedures.
- Test and validate system signals/communication with central monitoring to properly establish service.
- Act as a customer service champion, helping customers fix issues and understand protection.
- Locate and alleviate trouble with damaged equipment or wiring.
- Readjust, repair or replace inoperative equipment and test for operation.
- Read blueprints, building and electrical plans to complete equipment repairs.
- Prepare trouble order forms to report temporary repairs.
- Coordinate inspections and/or installations with police, fire departments, or other appropriate agencies.
- Service experience.
- Technical aptitude.
- Strong verbal communication and customer‑focused mindset.
- Thrive in the face of uncertainty.
- High school diploma or GED and a valid driver’s license.
- Minimum 2 years experience installing and inspecting/repairing ADT or comparable product line.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to read building electrical, sprinkler plans and blueprints.
- Physical capability: standing, stooping, lifting, climbing, crawling.
- Pay range $15.98–$29.67 per hour based on experience and qualifications.
