Field/Service Technician, Installation Technician, Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
Job Summary
Responsible for broadband installation and troubleshooting activities for voice, video and data services. Performs field assessments, meets company standards and metrics, and completes required certifications and training for continued employment and advancement.
Compensation and Benefits$20 per hour, plus quarterly bonus opportunities and paid training. Benefits begin Day1 and include health, dental, vision coverage, paid time off, company‑observed holidays, and discounted cable services.
Core Responsibilities- Perform residential installations, service changes, and disconnects while following safe work practices, company procedures, and applicable electrical and safety codes.
- Diagnose and resolve issues on the network connection to customer equipment.
- Install and support basic home networks using coaxial cable, Ethernet, and Wi‑Fi technology.
- Verify service quality with required testing tools and adjust settings to deliver reliable performance.
- Educate customers on product usage and set appropriate expectations.
- Accurately document completed work and update customer accounts using digital tools.
- Maintain, clean, and stock assigned vehicle, tools, and equipment; report safety concerns, incidents, or vehicle issues promptly.
- Operate ladders, hand tools, meters, and light power tools safely and correctly; work at heights up to 26ft. on ladders, roofs, poles, or bucket trucks.
- Lift and carry equipment weighing up to 70pounds; work in crawl spaces or attics; perform duties near electrical sources.
- Drive a company vehicle safely and maintain a valid driver’s license.
- Complete required training, certifications, background checks, and licensing within defined time frames.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with customers, supervisors, and coworkers.
- Meet or exceed established performance and safety standards.
- Carry out additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Relevant work experience in broadband installation or related field preferred.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to drive a company vehicle.
- Physical ability to lift up to 70pounds, work in confined spaces, and operate ladders and other equipment safely.
