Software Engineer III

Responsibilities

Senior Full-Stack Engineer will design and develop scalable, high‑performance applications using NodeJS for the backend and Angular for front‑end development. The role focuses on data analytics, visualizations, and real‑time performance metrics to aid in crime prevention and resolution.

• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure seamless integration of frontend and backend services, delivering a fluid user experience for public safety officials and community users.
• Optimize applications for maximum speed, scalability, and security, complying with best practices and regulatory standards.
• Develop reusable components and libraries that can be leveraged across multiple applications.
• Lead code reviews, testing, and continuous integration to ensure robust, reliable, and maintainable codebases.

• 5+ years of experience with NodeJS and Angular, building scalable, high‑performance applications.
• Experience with data analytics, visualization frameworks, and real‑time data display (e.g., D3.js, Chart.js).
• Proficiency in building RESTful APIs and working with databases such as MySQL, Mongo
  
  DB, or similar.
• Experience building Docker images and Kubernetes deployments, services, ingress, config maps, and secrets.
• Solid understanding of modern front‑end and back‑end frameworks (NextJS) and how they contribute to a seamless product experience.
• Strong knowledge of performance optimization techniques for both client‑side and server‑side applications.
• Proficiency in implementing secure and compliant coding practices, especially within public safety or sensitive data contexts.
• Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills, focusing on user‑centric solutions.
• Proven ability to work with agile methodologies.

• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization tools like Docker or Kubernetes.
• Experience with ArcGIS/ESRI maps and geospatial mapping.
• Previous experience in public safety, law enforcement, or related industries.
• Familiarity with microservices architecture and best practices for building distributed systems.
• Knowledge of AI or machine learning techniques that can assist with predictive policing or incident trend analysis.
• Knowledge of PHP/Laravel is a plus.

The pay range for this role is disclosed in good faith; however, the final compensation may vary based on factors such as education, qualifications, experience, and business needs. The salary includes comprehensive benefits: medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), life, disability, and ADD insurance. Salaried personnel receive paid time off; hourly employees are eligible for paid sick leave if required by law.
