Mod Med is hiring a driven Manager of Platform Engineering to lead the development of our web solutions. The Manager will build and manage a high‑performing engineering organization, set technical leadership, governance, standards and processes, and drive our web organization forward. This role is hybrid and requires in‑office presence three days per week.

• Lead multiple teams of Software Engineers to build the next generation of healthcare products
• Grow the Software Engineering organization by empowering engineers and managers, and pushing down ownership and accountability
• Align the organization around our mission, core values, and desired behaviors
• Establish development processes, engineering metrics, and operational guidelines that improve overall health through continuous improvements
• Champion engineering initiatives
• Ensure products and releases are delivered on time and with high quality

• 3+ years of experience managing engineering teams in a web‑based application/service environment
• 5+ years of experience with Agile/Scrum development methodology
• Experience working in a team‑oriented, collaborative environment
• Experience with object‑oriented design and SOA based principles
• Strong understanding of back‑end development using system languages:
  Java or .NET, Web Services (SOAP & RESTful), and Web/Service‑oriented architecture
• Strong understanding of application lifecycle management tools for source control, continuous integration and deployment, and testing (unit, integration, load, performance, vulnerability)
• Good understanding of application and web server technologies
• Strong commitment to quality, architecture, and maintainability
• Highly self‑motivated and self‑directed
• Experience with leading engineers
• Good project management and product lifecycle skills
• Great communicator, collaborator, motivator, and influencer
  
  High emotional intelligence
• Excellent problem‑solving skills
• Adaptable, proactive, and willing to take ownership
