The Patient Registration Coordinator is the first line of customer service for all patients and visitors entering our office. A happy, responsible individual who takes initiative and is a team player sets the mood for patients as they enter the office. The role bridges the front and back of the office, supporting patients, staff, and dentists to create a positive experience.
EssentialDuties
- Greet patients upon arrival
- Obtain insurance information, review it for accuracy, and route it to the appropriate staff member. Hand out the paperwork to patients according to their needs, handle routine questions, and review paperwork for accuracy when it is turned in.
- Change and update patient status in the computer according to established guidelines
- Verify insurance and frequency of services when needed
- Assist with attaching payments, sending claims, and checking billable x‑rays
- Clean and maintain front office area/lobby
- Perform other duties as assigned
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Dental Experience is Required
- Customer Service Skills – must provide excellent patient service to ensure their dental needs are met
- Multi‑Tasker – ability to prioritize and address multiple demands concurrently
- Communication – must communicate effectively with clinical team, patient, responsible parties, and other staff as necessary
- Team Mindset – ability to work within a team for the good of the patient
- Positive Problem Solver – ability to think on feet and find solutions to a variety of unique issues
