Overview
Seeking a process driven and detail-oriented Engineering Technician for System Planning Projects. The ideal candidate will have experience in the electrical utility industry.
This position is responsible for electric system planning under the direction of the System Planning Engineer.
This position is located at our office in Boerne, TX and may require some occasional travel to project sites.
Responsibilities- Prepare system planning studies including load forecasts, determining improvements projects, cost estimates, map updates, and planning report production.
- Complete various planning analysis and studies including: new service supply plans, short circuit and system coordination, arc flash, motor start, capacitor placement, outage reports, DESR impact study, and load forecasts.
- Create, update, and maintain Client electric system maps in AutoCAD or GIS software.
- Create, update, and maintain electric system models in Milsoft or Cyme.
- Prepare technical reports including analysis summaries and system maps.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Associates Degree preferred
- 0-2 years’ experience in the Electric Utility Industry
- Strong (effective) written and verbal communication skills
- Exceptional computer skills, with emphasis on AutoCAD, ArcGIS, spreadsheet, and word processing applications
- Strong skills of time management, organizational and multi-tasking
- This position requires the ability to listen and hear, good eyesight, sitting, standing, walking, and use of hands and arms
