This role serves as the single point of accountability for calibration planning, execution, documentation, supervision, and audit readiness, directly supporting inspection accuracy, production continuity, and overall quality system integrity.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate and manage the site-wide calibration program for all measurement and test equipment, including hand tools, gauges, fixtures, laboratory instruments, and automated inspection systems.
- Provide day‑to‑day oversight and technical supervision of calibration technicians and equipment operators, ensuring proper use, handling, and status control of calibrated equipment.
- Assign, prioritize, and monitor calibration activities performed by calibration technicians and trained operators in accordance with approved procedures and schedules.
- Develop, maintain, and control calibration schedules, ensuring timely calibration, recertification, recall, and availability of equipment.
- Interface with external calibration service providers to schedule services, review certifications, resolve discrepancies, and ensure compliance with contractual, technical, and regulatory requirements.
- Review and approve calibration certificates for accuracy, traceability, and conformance to AS9100, ISO 17025, customer, and program‑specific requirements.
- Maintain accurate and complete calibration records within electronic quality systems (e.g., ERP, CMMS, or calibration databases).
- Ensure proper identification, labeling, segregation, and status control of calibrated and non‑calibrated equipment across production, inspection, and laboratory areas.
- Support internal, customer, and third‑party audits by providing calibration records, metrics, and objective evidence, and by participating in audit discussions as the calibration subject‑matter expert.
- Investigate and document out‑of‑tolerance conditions, assess potential product impact, and coordinate containment and corrective actions with Quality, Engineering, and Operations.
- Develop, maintain, and revise calibration‑related procedures, work instructions, and training materials.
- Train, qualify, and support calibration technicians and equipment operators on calibration requirements, equipment handling, and proper measurement practices.
- Monitor calibration KPIs (on‑time calibration, overdue items, audit findings, escapes) and lead continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen system robustness.
- Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and EHS requirements related to calibration activities.
