Under general supervision of the Chief Juvenile Probation Officer, the purpose of the position is to provide supervision and services to juvenile offenders through interviewing, and counseling of juveniles and families; performing evaluations and making recommendations regarding juvenile cases; and maintaining on‑going correspondence and communication with juvenile offenders to ensure best possible outcomes for the juvenile. The position requires close coordination with the juvenile court, judges, prosecutors, defense counsel, law enforcement, schools, and community partners, while maintaining strict adherence to ethical standards and confidentiality requirements, in order to ensure that good probation services are rendered to the youth and the community.
This position is subject to and requires rotational 24‑hour on‑call duty. This position requires residence within a one‑hour drive of the Kendall County courthouse.
