This is a contract 1099 position, remote, for a Medical Coder based in USA. The Medical Coder will be responsible for reviewing clinical documentation and assigning accurate medical codes for diagnoses, procedures, and services. Core responsibilities include ensuring compliance with applicable regulations, supporting efficient billing processes, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of coding guidelines, and collaborating with healthcare professionals to clarify documentation. The position emphasizes accuracy and attention to detail in medical records to optimize reimbursement and reduce errors.

• Proficiency in Medical Coding with demonstrated coding experience
• Knowledge of Medical Terminology and Health Information Management practices
• Active RHIT (Registered Health Information Technician) certification or equivalent preferred
• Strong understanding of industry regulations and compliance standards
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams
• Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems and medical coding software is beneficial
• Certification in a related healthcare field is a must (AAPC or AHIMA)
