Job Summary

Supports the Human Resources department by assisting with various administrative tasks, providing customer service to employees, and assisting with recruiting and onboarding duties for hourly (non-exempt) positions. This position handles daily HR-related inquiries, assists with maintaining employee records, and supports production leadership with scheduling and timekeeping duties for temporary workers and regular hourly employees.

Job Responsibilities
  • Assists employees with daily inquiries related to timekeeping, attendance, benefits, and company policies.
  • Schedules and conducts interviews for entry-level production vacancies.
  • Schedules and conducts orientation for hourly new hires.
  • Assists new hires with required onboarding paperwork, including policy acknowledgements and I-9 documentation.
  • Updates employee information in the HRIS as needed.
  • Maintains and updates employee s and door access fobs as needed.
  • Assists with correcting and reporting hourly timekeeping errors.
  • Assists Operations with scheduling temporary labor and reporting worked hours to staffing agencies on a weekly basis.
  • Assists the HR Department and Operations with employee communications and announcements as needed.
  • Assists with the maintenance and organization of personnel files and other required documentation.
  • All staff must report any known food safety issues to leadership.
  • All staff have the authority to place on hold any products and/or equipment that do not meet Texas Star Nut and Food Co., Inc. food safety standards.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
  • 1-2 years of previous experience in an HR-related role.
  • Must be bilingual, with the ability to speak, read and write in both Spanish and English on a professional level.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Basic understanding of HR laws and regulations.
