Senior Project Manager
Our client is a fast-growing underground utilities company in Boerne, TX looking for talented, motivated people. We are currently accepting applications for a Senior Project Manager to join our growing team. This applicant must have extensive experience and leadership expertise in underground utility construction, including both wet and dry utility infrastructure projects.
Job Summary:The Senior Construction Project Manager will organize, direct, and oversee construction projects from start to finish while providing leadership, strategic planning, and operational oversight for multiple utility construction projects and project management teams.
Supervisory Responsibilities:- Manages a team of Assistant Project Managers to ensure project planning, permitting, material procurement, job-cost tracking, and other APM duties are being performed.
- Oversees Production Reports & Superintendents to ensure projects are completed on budget and built to plan specifications.
- Delegates assignments to team members based on expertise, work experience, project schedules, and other project requirements.
- Manages and develops performance for Assistant Project Managers.
- Provides mentorship, leadership development, and operational guidance to project management staff.
- Collaborates with executive leadership on project forecasting, budgeting, staffing, and operational planning.
- Leads interdepartmental teams to complete assigned projects on time, to specifications, and with accuracy and efficiency.
- Ensures accurate monthly Pay Applications are submitted for all assigned projects.
- Outlines the tasks involved in the project and delegates accordingly.
- Conducts job cost analysis, estimating expected costs for the project.
- Prepares and implements budgets based on awarded estimates.
- Conducts risk assessments; reports identified risks to management; provides recommendations for mitigation of risk (including termination of the project if appropriate).
- Addresses questions, concerns, and/or complaints throughout the project lifecycle.
- Acts as a liaison between company, customers, municipalities, vendors, and subcontractors.
- Ensures compliance with federal, state, local, industry, contractual, and company regulations, standards, specifications, and best practices.
- Oversees project schedules, change orders, forecasting, and project profitability.
- Reviews contracts, scopes of work, and project documentation to ensure successful execution.
- Manages projects involving both wet and dry utility systems including water, sewer, storm drain, electrical, telecommunications, and gas utilities.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- In-depth understanding of underground utility construction procedures, materials, and project management principles.
- Extensive experience with both wet and dry utility infrastructure projects, including water, sewer, storm drain, electrical, telecommunications, and gas utilities.
- Experience with construction/project management software and MS Office Suite.

- Ability to manage multiple large-scale projects simultaneously.

- Bachelor's degree in related field, which may include Business, Engineering, Construction Management, or Building Science preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in General Contracting, Site Work, Underground Utility Construction, wet and dry utility infrastructure, or related construction required.
- Previous experience managing large-scale underground utility projects strongly preferred.
- PMP and/or comparable project management certifications highly desirable.
- Prior leadership experience managing project teams and field operations preferred.
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Ability to visit active construction sites and navigate varying terrain and weather conditions.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
