Production Manager
Job Purpose
This is a 2nd‑shift PTL position. The Production Team Lead supports all aspects regarding Safety, Quality, Delivery, & Cost (SQDC) of the assigned production Value Stream(s). Value Stream (VS) is defined from receipt of materials through the shipment of goods to the customer. The Production Team Lead will lead, coach, and influence all direct employees affiliated with the VS. This position will interact with the Value Stream Leader, Director – Operations/Manufacturing Manager, other Production & Technical Supervisors, Project Engineers, Program Managers, Customer Operations, and Quality in carrying out duties and responsibilities and will interface with the Customer as needed.
Job Responsibilities- Put Safety first at all times, never compromising safety for the attainment of other objectives.
- Ensure operational goals are met in the areas of Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC).
- Support and lead continuous improvements in SQDC.
- Observe, support, and contribute to company safety programs, policies & initiatives; implement and continually monitor safe work practices in the Value Stream. Conduct required safety & environmental audits, 5S audits, JHA assessments, identify hazards, and ensure all employees follow safe work practices.
- Work as Production Lead with some administrative duties.
- Track daily/weekly production, give updates and identify problems.
- Ensure flow of subcomponents through the cell "bottle necks".
- Schedule attainment with outside support operations (Weaving, Molding, Machining, Quality, Shipping, etc.).
- Write MRs and work with Engineers to clear parts from MR as needed.
- Provide work direction to workers assigned to the work cell, coordinate vacation and lunch/break coverage, obtain approved overtime coverage.
- Troubleshoot and assist in solving production problems using root cause analysis tools.
- Coordinate and provide training for Technicians.
- Contribute to process improvement and cost reduction initiatives.
- Housekeeping and organization (5S) of the work cell.
- Ensure raw materials & general supplies are present at each work station and surplus materials are properly stored.
- Ensure proper completion of production and traceability documentation at all work stations.
- Set‑up and operate key equipment in the work cell; help establish, implement, and sustain TPM.
- Operate and troubleshoot process monitoring / data acquisition program software (APN system).
- Perform SAP transactions such as Migo, CofI, MMBE, MD04.
- Troubleshoot inventory issues; handle Halb/ROH counts, min/max materials, variance reports.
- Provide input in quarterly review process.
- Follow Leader Standard Work.
- Lead Startup Meeting (Tier
1), involved in Tier 2. - Ensure proper procedures during Safety Incidents, Evacuation, Inclement Weather.

Qualifications / Characteristics- Strong math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, fractions, decimals).
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to understand and follow training materials and work instructions.
- Basic knowledge of MSDS and their use.
- Proper use of safety and personal protective equipment.
- Good supervision skills: communication, coordination, recognition, coaching.
- Ability to work 24/7 schedule.
- Basic computer skills.
- Relevant work experience: manufacturing environment.
- Education:
AS in Technical curriculum highly preferred;
Minimum high school graduate with relevant work experience. - Experience may substitute for education at management’s discretion if candidate demonstrates necessary knowledge.
- Lean training or experience desired.
- Manufacturing leadership strongly preferred.

Working ConditionsIndoor production environment with adequate lighting and comfortable temperatures. Occasional exposure to moderate noise and machinery with mechanical moving parts. Ability to work 24/7 schedule and be available as business situations require, overtime dependent on business need.
Physical Requirements- Frequently positions sheets of material onto molds and/or manually sands parts.
- Frequent repetitive hand movements, use of hand tools (pliers, sanders, scissors, etc.).
- Frequently remain in a stationary position up to 75% of the time.
- Must detect and recognize visual differences between materials or parts.
- Frequently moves molds and parts >25 lbs between work tables and carts.
