Position Summary: We are seeking a Quality Team Lead to support the daily operations of our inspection team within a fast‑paced aerospace environment. This role is ideal for quality professionals with strong technical inspection experience who are ready to take on more responsibility and mentor others. The Quality Team Lead will assist in coordinating inspection activities, provide technical guidance, and support compliance with industry and customer quality standards within assigned programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and coordinate day‑to‑day inspection activities under the guidance of the Sr. Quality Team Lead/Quality Supervisor.
  • Train team members in interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and using measurement tools.
  • Review inspection documentation for completeness, accuracy, and traceability.
  • Assist in identifying and escalating quality issues, including supporting root cause and corrective action efforts.
  • Ensure adherence to AS9100, customer‑specific, and internal quality procedures.
  • Support internal audits and preparation for external/customer audits.
  • Work closely with production and engineering to resolve quality‑related concerns in a timely manner.
  • Help maintain an organized and efficient inspection area, promoting continuous improvement and a strong quality culture.

Experience / Education / Skills Qualifications
  • Associate degree or equivalent technical training preferred; high school diploma with 3+ years of aerospace inspection or manufacturing quality experience required.
  • Working knowledge of AS9100 requirements and aerospace inspection standards.
  • Proficient in use of standard inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, and height gauges.
  • Working knowledge in reading and interpreting blueprints, GD&T, and technical specifications.
  • Solid communication and interpersonal skills to lead by example and support peer development.
  • Experience training or mentoring other inspectors is highly desirable.
  • Pass a vision test.
Preferred Skills
  • Familiarity with quality management systems (QMS) and ERP/MRP software (SAP preferred).
  • Exposure to FAIRs (First Article Inspection Reports), PPAP, or APQP methodologies.
  • ASQ certifications (e.g., CQI, CQT) are a plus.
Work Environment
  • Primarily a shop floor‑based role in a climate‑controlled manufacturing environment.
  • Regular standing, walking, and use of inspection equipment required.
  • Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs. occasionally.
