Hydro Vac Truck Operator

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Hydro Vac Truck Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will safely operate hydro excavation equipment to perform non‑destructive digging for underground utilities while maintaining strict safety standards.

• Operate hydro vac truck and vacuum excavation equipment safely and efficiently
• Perform potholing, day lighting, trenching, and utility exposure
• Transport equipment to and from job sites
• Perform daily pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections
• Maintain equipment in clean and working condition
• Follow all safety procedures and job‑site protocols
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and crew members

• Hydro vac or vacuum excavation experience preferred
• Knowledge of underground utility locating and excavation safety
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Strong work ethic and attention to detail
• Must be able to pass drug screening and background check
• Ability to safely operate:
  • High‑pressure water systems
  • Vacuum boom and debris tank
  • PTO systems
• Basic equipment maintenance experience (daily inspections, greasing, cleaning tanks, winterization)

• High school diploma or GED (required)
• Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
  • Class B (minimum; Class A acceptable)
  • Air brake endorsement (required)
• Tank endorsement (preferred or required, depending on truck configuration)
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 (preferred; can be obtained after hire)

• Able to bend, stretch, push, pull, and move as needed to reach, clean, and service machinery.
• Must be able to visually inspect machines.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
