The Chief Engineer is responsible for providing a safe, secure, and comfortable environment for guests and associates by ensuring the effective operation, maintenance, and sustainability of all hotel facilities and assets. This role leads the Engineering Department during and after the hotel’s conversion into Banyan Group, ensuring full compliance with brand standards, safety regulations, and operational excellence. As a key department head, the Chief Engineer plays a critical role in asset protection, preventive maintenance, and energy efficiency.

• Lead and manage all Engineering Department operations, ensuring timely and effective maintenance of buildings, guestrooms, plant rooms, and equipment.
• Implement and oversee preventive maintenance programs to maintain hotel assets in optimal condition.
• Respond promptly to guest requests and operational issues to ensure minimal disruption and high guest satisfaction.

• Support the engineering transition during the hotel conversion, ensuring alignment with Banyan Group engineering standards, SOPs, and sustainability practices.
• Coordinate with Project Control Division (PCD) and external contractors for renovation, upgrading, and development works, ensuring quality and compliance with Group standards.
• Ensure all engineering documentation, manuals, drawings, and records are properly maintained and updated.

• Ensure full compliance with local regulations, safety standards, fire life safety systems, and emergency procedures.
• Conduct regular inspections to identify risks and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure a safe working environment for guests and associates at all times.

• Develop and implement energy conservation and sustainability initiatives to optimize utility consumption and reduce costs.
• Monitor utility usage and recommend efficiency improvements in line with Banyan Group sustainability principles.

• Prepare, manage, and control the annual Repair & Maintenance (R&M) budget.
• Monitor departmental expenses and inventory to ensure cost efficiency and budget compliance.
• Liaise with Purchasing to ensure timely procurement of quality engineering supplies at competitive prices.

• Lead, train, coach, and develop the Engineering team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
