Responsibilities
- Manage junior staff members on engagements
- Develop testing strategies during the planning phase of in‑charge engagements and complete planning documentation according to firm standards, GAAS, and best practices
- Prepare internal controls documentation, risk assessment, testing, and random sample generation for internal and external audit engagements
- Perform substantive external audit procedures in moderate and high‑risk audit areas, generally account receivable, revenue, debt, net assets/equity, and other areas
- Handle reporting phases of engagements, including completing reporting documentation according to firm standards, GAAS, and best practices
- Prepare financial statements and other financial reports for all engagements served
- Prepare management letters for all engagements served
- Prepare and/or review nonprofit information returns (IRS Form 990 and New York State CHAR
500)
- College degree in Accounting – 150 credits preferred
- 3+ years of audit experience in public accounting, preferably with non‑profit, school, and/or employee benefit plan clients
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
- Strong communication, interpersonal, analytical, and research abilities
- CPA is a plus
- Applied working knowledge of US GAAP and GAAS; GAGAS experience is preferred
- Familiarity with Pro System fx Engagement preferred
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors such as relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
This job is not eligible for bonuses, incentives or commissions.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
