We are seeking a Senior Cost Accountant to play a key role in driving accurate inventory valuation, cost transparency, and financial insight across our manufacturing operations. This position partners closely with Finance and Operations to support month-end close, improve cost efficiency, and provide actionable analysis that informs business decisions.
Responsibilities Inventory & Month-End Close- Lead inventory accounting activities, including reconciliations, roll-forwards, and subledger-to-general ledger tie‑outs
- Ensure accuracy and integrity of inventory balances and transactions
- Support month‑end close processes related to inventory and cost of goods sold
- Analyze standard costs, including labor and overhead, and investigate variances
- Prepare and review Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) reporting and reconciliations
- Track and analyze costs at the lot and product level to support margin visibility
- Maintain cost structures and validate data through Bills of Materials (BOMs)
- Prepare monthly inventory reserve analyses and cost reporting packages
- Maintain inventory schedules and supporting documentation
- Support cycle counts, physical inventory, and audit requirements
- Ensure accurate integration between ERP systems and the General Ledger
- Partner with manufacturing and operations teams to analyze expenses and recommend cost reclassifications
- Review P&L expenses and provide insights to improve cost control and efficiency
- Identify opportunities to enhance processes, reporting, and cost accuracy
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 5+ years of cost accounting experience within a manufacturing environment
- Strong understanding of inventory accounting and standard costing methodologies
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and data analysis
- Experience with ERP systems (Net Suite and/or Batch Master preferred)
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills
- Effective communication skills with the ability to partner cross‑functionally
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment
