Role DescriptionThis is a full‑time, on‑site Estimator role located in Bohemia, NY. The Estimator will review project plans and specifications to prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for industrial and commercial HVAC installations, upgrades, and replacements. Day‑to‑day responsibilities include analyzing labor, materials, and equipment costs, soliciting and evaluating vendor and subcontractor quotes, and preparing bid proposals and budgets. The role involves collaborating with project managers, engineers, and field teams to clarify scope, identify cost‑saving opportunities, and support project planning.
The Estimator will also maintain organized documentation, update cost databases, and assist with change order pricing and client communications.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills, with the ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and job scopes.
- Experience in estimating for mechanical, HVAC, or construction projects; familiarity with industry standards and building codes is preferred.
- Proficiency with estimating or construction management software, as well as MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Solid organizational and time‑management skills, with the ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills for coordinating with internal teams, suppliers, and clients.
- Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy, safety, and quality.
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Prior experience in industrial or commercial HVAC environments is highly beneficial.
