Position SummaryThe Production Manager will manufacture products by supervising staff, organizing, and monitoring workflow. This role will manage all GMP packaging operations for pills and tablets, both automated and manual. The Production Manager will be responsible for maintaining all safety rules, SOP's in accordance with all company and outside regulatory policies and rules. This role reports directly to the Factory Manager.
Key Responsibilities- Accomplishing manufacturing staff results by communicating job expectations, planning, monitoring and appraising job results, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees.
- Initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
- Maintaining staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training employees, and developing personal growth opportunities.
- Managing all activities of the packaging operations.
- Working with the Quality Department to ensure compliance with all quality SOP's, supporting the Quality and technical departments with any audits, be they GMP Certifications, Organic Certifications, or Audits by Government Regulatory Agencies.
- Maintaining appropriate files for tracking batch and lot records, tracking productivity and bonus number for all lines and employees in the packaging department while meeting and exceeding efficiency standards.
- Ensuring the manufacturing and packaging operations and production employees comply with food safety, quality, and cGMP requirements under HACCP, NSF and SQF programs.
- Maintaining workflow by monitoring steps of the process; setting processing variables; observing control points and equipment; monitoring personnel and resources; studying methods; implementing cost reductions; developing reporting procedures and systems; facilitating corrections to malfunctions within process control points; initiating and fostering a spirit of cooperation within and between departments.
- Completing production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel; accomplishing work results; establishing priorities; monitoring progress; revising schedules; resolving problems; reporting results of the processing flow on shift production summaries.
- Maintaining quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards.
- Ensures operation of equipment by calling for repairs, evaluating new equipment and techniques.
- Providing manufacturing information by compiling, initiating, sorting, and analyzing production performance records and data; answering questions and responding to requests.
- Creating and revising systems and procedures by analyzing operating practices, record-keeping systems, forms of control, and budgetary and personnel requirements; implementing change.
