Fab-Tex, a busy medium/ heavy duty truck shop located in western suffolk, NY, is expanding its service team. We are currently looking to hire a reliable, hard-working Truck Welder who specializes in welding truck bodies, equipment trailers, snowplows, sanders, custom fabricates, etc.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for assembling pieces of metal together or repairing damage in metal components using heavy machinery that emits high heat, melting the metal into shape.
• Manufacture and fabricate finished metal products.
• Install and repair various equipment and component parts.
• Effectively communicate with manager if additional repairs are required or if difficulties arise.

Requirements:

Minimum 2 (TWO) years of experience working on trucks, trailers or heavy equipment.

• AUTOMOTIVE/TRUCK/YELLOW EQUIPMENT/TRAILER Welding: 2 years, please do not apply if you do not have truck welding experience.
• The welder must provide own tools.
• Must have experience with heavy-duty trucks, trailers, plow frames, etc.
• Maintain a high level of professionalism, motivation, focus, and organization.
• Current and valid driver’s license (CDL preferred, but not mandatory).
• Must have great communication skills within a team environment.
• Can work in a face-paced shop without sacrificing quality of work.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are a representation of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

• The employee is required to stand, walk, grasp tools, hear, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, sit for an extended time period, lift/ move up to 25 lbs, and have good vision.

Job Type: Full Time or Part Time

Pay: $25.00-$40.00 per hour- competitive pay based on skill and experience

Schedule:

• Monday-Friday
• Flexible Hours
• Full-time Day Shift: Mon-Fri 7am- 5:30pm
• Part-time: 3-5 days, Flexible hours (Day or Night)

** ALL SHIFTS ARE FLEXIBLE**

• Overtime available, on average 10 hours a week overtime
• Weekend availability
