CNC Machinist

Randstad has partnered with Long Island’s premier precision machining and manufacturing leaders to find dependable, detail-oriented CNC Machine Operators for a high‑tech shop producing critical components for aerospace, defense, and medical industries.

Compensation & Schedule
Salary: $60,000 – $75,000 per year

Shift: First

Hours:

8 AM – 4 PM

Education required:

High School

• Machine Operation: load raw materials (castings, bar stock, or blanks) into machines, secure them using fixtures or vises, and execute pre‑programmed commands on CNC machinery such as Haas, Mazak, or Fanuc systems.
• In‑Process Inspection: conduct routine dimensional checks on finished parts using precision measurement tools—calipers, micrometers, thread gauges, and dial indicators—to ensure parts match engineering designs.
• Offset Adjustments: monitor tool wear closely and make basic machine offset adjustments or change worn inserts under the guidance of a setup machinist to keep parts within strict technical tolerances.
• Blueprint Reading: read and follow manufacturing blueprints, process sheets, and work orders to understand exact part dimensions, tolerances, and production counts.
• Deburring & Part Finishing: perform basic finishing work such as deburring sharp edges or cleaning completed parts and maintain a clean, organized machine workspace.
• Essential functions:
