Are you a food safety and quality leader who knows how to build a strong quality culture while keeping a fast-paced manufacturing operation audit-ready?

We are conducting a confidential search for a Quality Assurance Manager for an established and growing food manufacturer in Bohemia, NY
. This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for a QA professional with strong SQF/GFSI, HACCP, GMP, sanitation, and regulatory compliance expertise.

Reporting to the Regulatory Compliance Manager, this individual will lead the facility’s day-to-day food safety and quality assurance programs
, supervise the quality team, and partner closely with Production, Packaging, Logistics, Maintenance, HR, and plant leadership.

• Lead and develop the plant’s Quality Assurance team
• Manage and continuously improve food safety and quality systems, policies, SOPs, and procedures
• Ensure compliance with SQF/GFSI, HACCP, GMP, sanitation, FDA, state, and applicable USDA requirements
• Conduct plant inspections, audits, risk assessments, and quality reviews
• Maintain an audit-ready environment and support certification requirements
• Analyze quality data and identify trends, root causes, corrective actions, and opportunities for process improvement
• Lead customer complaint investigations and ensure corrective actions are implemented and sustained
• Develop sampling plans for ingredients, finished products, and other materials
• Partner with Operations to resolve quality issues while supporting production needs
• Train and mentor employees on food safety, quality standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices
• Create and maintain detailed SOPs, documentation, and quality records
• Drive a proactive food safety and quality culture throughout the facility
• Ensure appropriate quality and sanitation staffing, training, and competency
• Serve as a change leader, identifying opportunities to strengthen processes, controls, and plant performance

The ideal candidate is a hands-on QA leader who can balance regulatory compliance, people leadership, process improvement, and the realities of a high-volume food manufacturing environment

Key qualifications include:

• Minimum 2 years of Quality Systems Management experience
• Minimum 2 years implementing and maintaining SQF or another GFSI-recognized standard
• HACCP Certification
• SQF Practitioner/Auditor certification
• PCQI Certification
• Food Defense Certification
• Strong knowledge of FDA, state, and applicable USDA regulations
• Strong working knowledge of SQF/GFSI, HACCP, GMP, sanitation, process controls, and continuous improvement
• Demonstrated ability to write detailed SOPs
• Proven experience training, mentoring, and developing teams
• Strong leadership, organization, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving manufacturing environment
• Fluency in Spanish required
• Degree in Food Science, Food Safety, or a related discipline preferred
