FCA is seeking a Social Work Counselor for our Project Independence Program, a program that provides services to youth between the ages of 14‑21 so they can live and work independently in the community when they are no longer eligible for foster care. The Social Work Counselor will provide education and develop independent living skills for foster care children referred by the Department of Social Services.
This is a great opportunity for a recent college graduate!
Responsibilities- Conduct monthly home visits.
- Assist with developing and facilitating Independent Living Skills Workshops.
- Provide contacts and supports for foster families to facilitate implementation of independent living skills in the home.
- Coordinate service efforts with DSS caseworker regarding client's plan.
- Complete and maintain client case records.
- Complete a Step Up/ Casey Life Skills assessment and treatment plan in partnership with client, foster family and caseworker.
- Supervise student interns.
- Provide aftercare services to all PI program youth.
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Service related field required.
- One year of full-time experience working with adolescents.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient computer skills with MS Office.
- Valid and clean driver's license.
