Lead Technical Accountant

Overview

Join our expanding and vibrant Technical Accounting team at Oracle as a Lead Technical Accountant. In this pivotal role, you will delve into the particulars of transactions by reviewing contracts and collaborating with essential business partners, including our US and International Accounting teams. Utilize your expertise in researching accounting guidance to pinpoint significant accounting issues and suggest essential accounting and disclosure requirements for complex, non-routine transactions.

Your ability to communicate effectively will ensure that key stakeholders across Corporate Development, Integration, Legal, Tax, and the broader Finance organization are informed about the accounting and business impacts of transactions. Strong written communication skills are critical, as your primary output will often be a technical accounting memo. This role will also require you to engage verbally with Oracle's external auditors regarding technical accounting matters.

You will report directly to the Senior Director of Technical Accounting.

• Conduct thorough research on technical accounting issues.
• Document findings in detailed technical accounting memos.
• Assist in the external auditor's review and audit of technical accounting positions.
• Execute due diligence procedures and prepare related documentation for M&A activities.
• Establish procedures related to purchase accounting, including documentation of key technical issues and coordination with third-party valuation experts.
• Lead or participate in special projects as required.

• At least 5 years of experience in public accounting.
• A minimum of 8 years of combined experience in public accounting and industry roles.
• In-depth knowledge of US GAAP, particularly ASC 842, ASC 805, ASC 810, ASC 321, and ASC 323.
• Strong critical thinking skills to evaluate various accounting implications and solutions.
• Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and with external parties to gather relevant information and articulate accounting conclusions.
• Proficient written communication skills with experience drafting technical accounting memos.
• Experience working with external auditors on technical accounting topics.
• CPA designation is highly preferred.

The salary range for this position is from $97,500 to $199,500 per annum, with eligibility for bonuses and equity.
