Job Description

Idaho Tax & Bookkeeping Services is seeking an experienced bookkeeper to join our team. We are looking for someone with strong hands on bookkeeping experience who can work independently and manage the books for multiple business clients.

Experience with both Quick Books Online and Quick Books Desktop is required. Quick Books certification is a plus, but actual bookkeeping experience matters most. This is not an entry level position.

Responsibilities

• Full cycle bookkeeping for multiple business clients

• Bank and credit card reconciliations

• Categorizing and reviewing transactions

• Accounts payable and accounts receivable

• General ledger maintenance and cleanup

• Reviewing financial records for accuracy

• Preparing monthly and year end financial reports

• Identifying and correcting bookkeeping discrepancies

• Working with payroll records and payroll liabilities

• Preparing books for year end tax return preparation

• Communicating directly with clients regarding missing information and bookkeeping questions

• Troubleshooting Quick Books Online and Quick Books Desktop issues

• Managing multiple client files and deadlines

Required Qualifications

• Strong hands on bookkeeping experience

• Proficiency in Quick Books Online

• Proficiency in Quick Books Desktop

• Strong understanding of debits, credits, chart of accounts, and general ledger accounting

• Experience with bank and credit card reconciliations

• Ability to identify, research, and correct bookkeeping errors

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy

• Good organizational and time management skills

• Ability to manage multiple clients and competing deadlines

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Dependable and able to work independently as well as part of a team

• Comfortable working in a fast paced accounting and tax office

Quick Books certification is a plus, but it is not a substitute for experience.

Experience working in a CPA firm, accounting firm, tax office, or professional bookkeeping environment is strongly preferred.

We are looking for someone who can step into an existing Quick Books file, understand what is happening, recognize when something is wrong, and know how to fix it. The right person will be dependable, detail oriented, comfortable working directly with clients, and willing to take ownership of their work.

Compensation will be based on experience.
