Position: Office Manager (Boise, ID) (#5016)

Overview

Join our Boise office as our Office Manager and be a key partner to local leadership in running a high-performing, client-focused operation. The role involves leading day-to-day office management, building trusted relationships with attorneys and business professionals, overseeing staffing and hiring, supporting attorney recruiting, and contributing to financial management and operations. Key Responsibilities
  • Assess office needs and concerns through regular meetings with office leadership, lawyers, and business professionals.
  • Manage office operations, including determining appropriate staffing levels, obtaining necessary approvals, and partnering with Human Resources to recruit for open positions.
  • Provide orientation, onboarding, and training to all business professionals regarding firm policies and office procedures and coordinate training for job-specific requirements.
  • Conduct employee evaluations, administer increases, and counsel employees who are not meeting the firm s standards.
  • Coordinate and manage work allocation within the office and the workload, including overtime and coverage for absences.
  • Consult with employees to assist in resolving problems, and act as facilitator in dealing with attorneys where appropriate.
  • Act as primary contact between the Boise office and Dorsey Administration by answering questions and facilitating problem solving.
  • Support and advance the Firm s dedication to culture and engagement.
  • Plan office events and other activities to foster employee engagement.
  • Assist with budget planning and monitoring office expenses; review and approve expense reimbursements in accordance with firm policies.
  • Order office supplies and monitor supply inventory.
  • Provide backup coverage for reception, answer phones, and provide excellent customer service.
  • Oversee office checking account reconciliation and submit checking account reimbursement requests; reconcile the office credit card.
  • Assist with on-campus recruiting and act as contact for law school placement offices.
  • Work with Boise Office Head and Lawyer Recruiting Department to schedule interviews, coordinate travel, and facilitate evaluations for all lateral and summer associates.
  • Conduct summer associate orientation and assist with organizing social activities.
  • Assist the Marketing department with event management, including seminars, receptions, and special events.
  • Assist with office sponsor ships, including obtaining appropriate approval, submitting paperwork, and monitoring the office marketing budget.
  • Assist with processing Foundation applications and renewals.
  • Act as liaison between the Boise Office and Building Management, communicating facilities and security requirements and updates.
  • May perform other duties not listed above.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor s degree and at least 5 years of related supervisory/management experience, preferably in a law firm.
  • Successful experience in implementation of management policies, practices, procedures, and systems.
  • Strong administrative, management and leadership abilities.
  • Strong collaboration skills and ability to provide general management direction and strategic guidance to lawyers, managers, and business professionals.
  • Ability to anticipate and identify problems/issues; recommend and implement solutions/alternative courses of action.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitivity and discretion, sometimes dealing with difficult management decisions and situations.
  • Strong client service focus and commitment to the firm s values.
  • Excellent conflict management, coaching and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with all levels of firm personnel in a team environment.
  • Ability to facilitate individual and group meetings.
  • Ability to meet deadlines, synthesize information, delegate, follow up and monitor projects.
