We are seeking a detail-oriented Part-Time Records Assistant to join our team. This non-benefited position is scheduled to work 20–25 hours per week and offers an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys organization, records management, and preserving important historical documents.
Position Summary
The Records Assistant will be responsible for cataloging, organizing, and documenting the organization's microform files. This position will work closely with the Records Manager to review existing microform records and determine how the organization's records retention policies apply to each file. The ideal candidate is highly organized, attentive to detail, and able to handle confidential and historical records with care.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Catalog and document all microform files.
- Collaborate with Dani to evaluate and apply records retention policies to microforms records.
- Sort, organize, and maintain microform records in an accurate and systematic manner.
- File and archive microform in designated storage locations while maintaining an organized filing system for efficient retrieval and recordkeeping.
- Follow established document handling procedures to preserve historical and confidential records.
- Maintain accuracy and confidentiality while working with sensitive information.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
- Basic computer skills and experience with records management or filing systems preferred.
- Experience handling archival, historical, or confidential records is a plus.
