The Idaho Department of Health and Welfare, Division of Public Health has an opening for a Administrative Assistant 1 in the Idaho Bureau of Vital Records and Health Statistics office in Boise. The Idaho Bureau of Vital Records and Health Statistics is the official custodian of confidential certificates of birth, death, stillbirth, miscarriage, marriage and divorce events that occur in the State of Idaho.
If you have an eye for detail, have exemplary customer service and organization skills, enjoy keeping busy and like helping others we would like to meet you! The main duties of this position on the Vital Records Customer Service team includes downloading and processing online certificate applications, processing mailed in certificate applications, and providing telephone assistance to customers. The hours for this position are Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
This announcement will be used to fill vacancies at the Idaho Bureau of Vital Records and Health Statistics only. If you have previously applied for the Administrative Assistant 1 classification and wish to be considered for this position, you must reapply under this announcement. Previous scores will not be used. This announcement may be used to fill future permanent and temporary openings.
This position may be eligible for limited telework after successful completion of probation and necessary training. Approval to telecommute is not guaranteed and subject to termination at any time.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES:
- Review information on applications for completeness and process complete orders
- Conduct telephone interviews to determine customer ability to obtain records
- Provide general information and instructions for requesting certificates
- Explain Bureau policies and procedures
- Download certificate applications that were completed online
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
You must possess all the minimum qualifications below to pass the exam for this position. - Good knowledge of office support functions including word processing, filing, composing a variety of business documents and reception.
- Good knowledge of gathering and compiling data.
- Good knowledge of balancing and coordinating a workload for multiple projects.
