The U.S. Construction Trade Sourcing team at Micron is responsible for developing and delivering sourcing strategies that support the company's large‑scale capital construction programs. The team works closely in coordination with internal associates and strategic trade contractors. They ensure reliable workforce capacity, competitive costs, and resilient supply for Micron's U.S. manufacturing expansion projects.

As a Senior Category Analyst for Construction Trades Sourcing, you will have a meaningful role in supporting the U.S. capital construction portfolio s includes analyzing and forecasting construction trade labor demand, availability, risk, and cost. This role delivers actionable insights through data-driven market intelligence.
It supports cross-functional collaborators and works with industry partners to ensure labor risk mitigation and alignment with strategic business objectives.
Responsibilities
* Maintain and analyze construction trade labor datasets, forecasts, cost models, and market dashboards to deliver timely insights.
* Identify trends, risks, and opportunities in labor demand, availability, and cost, providing data‑driven recommendations to support sourcing and bid evaluations.
* Monitor and benchmark labor market conditions, wage rates, and industry practices, producing recurring market intelligence updates and alerts.
* Collaborate with general contractors, trade partners, unions, and community/government organizations to validate labor market data.
* Communicate findings clearly to internal collaborators and support cross-functional initiatives with relevant analytics and reporting.
* Improve and automate data collection, reporting processes, and analytical tools to enhance efficiency and decision-making.
* This role will design and refine automated data pipelines, create AI‑enabled dashboards, and pilot new predictive models that enhance transparency and decision‑making for the entire Trades Sourcing team."
Minimum Qualifications
* 3-5 years of experience in data analysis, market intelligence, cost modeling, or construction labor analytics.
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Business, Finance, Economics, Supply Chain, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas, data modeling); experience with Power BI or other visualization tools.
* Familiarity with SQL or database querying and exposure to ETL processes.
* Experience developing demand forecasts, cost models, and market intelligence reports.
* Strong communication skills and ability to maintain relationships with collaborators including builders, contractors, unions, and government partners.
* Strong business insight and the ability to use data to support decision-making and risk mitigation.
* This role requires hands‑on experience using AI/ML‑based analytics tools to automate data processing, generate market insights, and improve forecasting accuracy.
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience working within extensive capital development or semiconductor industry environments.
* Advanced proficiency with BI tools, dashboards, and automated reporting workflows.
* Direct experience engaging with trade labor organizations (union or merit-based).
* Demonstrated ability to synthesize sophisticated datasets into concise insights for executive audiences.
* Experience supporting sourcing, category management, or procurement teams.
* Knowledge of construction labor regulations, prevailing wage structures, and labor market dynamics.
