The U.S. Construction Trade Sourcing team at Micron is responsible for developing and delivering sourcing strategies that support the company’s large‑scale capital construction programs. Welcome! Are you ready to move your career to Micron? This is an exciting new role at Micron! As a Principal Category Supplier Manager for Construction Trades Sourcing, you will conduct strategic sourcing initiatives. You will plan and complete sophisticated multi‑site negotiations using supplier and industry analysis, benchmarking, and cost management on a portfolio scale. Through management of the category strategy, you will also be building positive relationships with colleagues across the organization, driving outstanding cost, supply and resilience.

Leading the Micron Alliance Program (MAP), you will segment suppliers by tier, field, and location. You will identify preferred tier‑1 suppliers and build master and frame agreements. You will implement performance governance and be responsible for engagement to ensure reliable capacity, quality execution, and driven costs for mega fab programs and major projects.

Responsibilities
  • Lead category management strategies and sourcing strategy development initiatives across assigned construction and capital project categories.
  • Drive the Micron Alliance Program (MAP), including supplier segmentation, preferred supplier selection, performance governance, and engagement.
  • Set and deliver portfolio‑level value targets such as cost reduction, purchasing efficiency, workforce reliability, schedule adherence, and resiliency.
  • Lead sophisticated, multi‑site negotiations for overarching agreements, strategic awards, renewals, and price renegotiations.
  • Develop and implement contract strategies, terms, and governance for tier‑1 suppliers.
  • Provide national market intelligence, labor benchmarks, and cost trend analysis to internal collaborators.
  • Collaborate with internal leaders and external suppliers to deliver strategic solutions throughout Micron’s domestic capital construction portfolio.
  • This role will apply AI to synthesize national supplier, cost, and labor‑market intelligence, enabling faster, more strategic sourcing decisions across the U.S. portfolio.
  • Identify high‑value automation opportunities in category strategy, supplier governance, and cost modeling, building scalable AI‑enabled solutions for Procurement execution.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 7+ years of demonstrated ability in procurement, category management, construction sourcing, or strategic supplier management.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Construction Management, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Proven experience leading category management and strategic sourcing, including master/frame agreements and supplier segmentation.
  • Experience in leading supplier performance governance (e.g., scorecards, QBRs, supplier development plans).
  • Established experience in leading complex negotiations across multi‑site or national programs.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with experience influencing senior and executive‑level collaborators.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting large‑scale construction, capital projects, or industrial environments, from the ground up.
  • Expertise using should‑cost models, labor market data, and cost benchmarks in sourcing and negotiation decisions.
  • Experience handling national or portfolio‑level sourcing strategies across multiple sites.
  • Proven ability to build long‑term strategic partnerships with tier‑1 suppliers.
