Do you love keeping projects (and people) organized, and want a front-row seat to affordable housing development?
If you're the person your friends call when they need something planned, tracked, or figured out (the one who color-codes the group trip itinerary and remembers what everyone forgot), this role is built for you. SMR Development is looking for a sharp, self‑directed Executive Assistant / Project Coordinator to help run the business side of affordable housing deals while keeping our Owner's calendar, inbox, and to‑do list under control.
You'll get hands‑on exposure to real estate finance, entitlements, and public policy. No industry background required, just curiosity, follow‑through, and a knack for making chaos look easy.
- Hours: ~30 hrs/week with flexibility to grow into full-time
- Pay: $25–30/hr, depending on experience
- Structure: Contract or employee (TBD)
- Location: Boise, ; hybrid/partial remote possible, local candidates preferred
SMR Development LLC is a nimble, WBE‑certified real estate development and consulting firm based in downtown Boise. We help communities across Idaho, California, and the broader region meet their goals around affordable and workforce housing. We work as development partners and consultants to meet our mission of creating more affordable and workforce housing.
What You'll DoProject Coordination- Coordinate affordable housing pre‑development and entitlement activities across multiple projects
- Build and maintain project agendas, notes, budgets, and schedules
- Manage land use application submissions across jurisdictions
- Research housing policy, regulations, and funding programs
- Help assemble LIHTC and other funding application materials
- Support procurement of architects, engineers, contractors, and other consultants
- Create templates, tools, and presentations to keep projects moving efficiently
- Manage the Owner's calendar (MS Outlook) across multiple time zones
- Maintain the task list (Click Up or similar) and keep action items on track
- Draft and format documents, memos, and presentations
- Handle inbox cleanup, travel coordination, and expense reimbursements
- Keep digital files and shared drives organized
- Assist with website updates and light social media
- Organized, dependable, and comfortable working independently
- Strong communicator with great attention to detail
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; comfortable with Click Up, Notion, or similar tools
- 1–3 years of relevant experience a plus (not required)
- Bachelor's degree preferred: planning, construction management, finance, or urban studies a plus
- Familiarity with affordable housing, real estate, or public policy is a bonus, not a requirement
- Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and a dependable personal computer
- Based in or near Boise, Idaho
