We're hiring a Product Manager to help us serve more families by: expanding our core platform to support more partnerships with institutions such as 211s and county governments, launching a new AI-powered intake experience, and keeping our live products running well in every region we serve. Reporting to the Director of Product, and working closely with engineers, designers, and community partners, you'll take ownership of a product area end-to-end: from understanding the need, through scoping and execution, to seeing whether it actually helped people achieve economic mobility.
AboutOne Degree
One Degree is a California based nonprofit investing in next-generation service navigation solutions that empower people to build healthy and fulfilling lives by improving access to life-changing social services. In the U.S., over 90M people live in a household where it is a daily struggle to meet basic needs. We are public-interest technologists committed to building the digital infrastructure communities need to help families take on the challenges they face everyday.
We listen to and learn from our communities to design technology that supports people on a path toward economic and social well-being. We bring our personal and professional experiences to our work and strive to understand the challenges facing the communities we serve.
We are a small but mighty team of people who care deeply about using our skills for impact. We’re low-ego, collaborative, curious, and serious about our mission. We are also joyful in how we work together and support one another along the way.
We are committed to equity, diversity, and inclusion. We know that a team with wide-ranging ideas, perspectives, and backgrounds fosters a stronger and more creative work environment. We especially encourage applications from people from underrepresented communities, including people of color, LGBTQ+ community members, people with lived experience of poverty or navigating social services, and people with disabilities.

- maintain and troubleshoot our live products across multiple regions
- manage relationships for some of our client and community partners
- support user research and data analysis to inform product decisions
- collect and synthesize feedback from front-line staff, partners, and users into clear requirements

- think in systems: you naturally consider how a decision affects other parts of the product, not just whether it's done
- can think about the big picture while still anticipating problems and getting the details right
- are excited about working on a small team where your weeks include cross-functional context switching between community feedback, communications, product, and partnerships
- are comfortable with ambiguity and can structure your own work without heavy process

And have…
- 5+ years of product management experience, or equivalent experience working closely with product teams
