Because of their continued growth, a General Contractor in the Greater Seattle Area is seeking an Assistant Project Manager - Commercial Construction Ground-up to join their team. The Assistant Project Manager is responsible for providing leadership and management to assigned projects safely, profitably, and timely. The Project Engineer manages the work in a manner consistent with standards of quality and integrity and will participate in the marketing, estimating, bidding, and contract negotiation phases of the projects assigned.
Assistant Project Manager Qualifications- 4 Year Degree in Construction Management or Similar OR relevant experience as Project Engineer in Commercial Construction
- 1-3 years experience in the commercial construction industry as a Project Engineer/Field Engineer
- Familiarity with construction industry computer software
- Proficient use of all Microsoft Office Suite programs

, you share responsibility for project success, including safety, schedule, profitability, and quality, and customer satisfaction. - Participate in many aspects of the business development process, including client contacts, relationships, proposals, presentations, and negotiations for selected projects.
- Help maintain professional working relationships with owners, architects, engineers, and subcontractors.
- Champion the orderly, timely transition of projects from the estimating phase to the field, including review meetings covering contract requirements, general conditions, schedules, budgets, subcontracts, and purchase order agreements.
- Coordinate with the Project Superintendent and Project Manager the means and methods required for the successful and profitable execution of the work.
- Serve as an integral part of the procurement schedule, paying special attention to the prevention and documentation of delays or changes.
- Use available reports to manage costs and prepare accurate cost projections.
- Review and execute all change orders, supplements, and cost control budget adjustments.
- Assist in managing all billings to ensure timely submission of payment applications and collection of payments from the owner to maintain a positive cash flow position.
- Prepare and execute purchase order agreements and subcontracts concerning insurance certificates, bonds, and the appropriate lien waivers.
- Provide feedback to estimators for use in future bidding or negotiations, especially subcontractor performance evaluations.
- Use Microsoft Office Suite programs proficiently.
