Airport Construction Project Manager
Location: Idaho (On-site)
Industry: Commercial & Industrial Construction
Employment Type: Full-Time
Our client, a nationally recognized leader in large‑scale infrastructure builds, is launching a high‑impact aviation fueling construction project in Idaho. They are seeking a skilled Project Manager to lead ground‑up development of a critical fueling facility at a major regional airport. This is a unique opportunity to take charge of a $28M+ multi‑phase project from day one, with visibility and impact across the entire job lifecycle.
This role offers the chance to lead from the front—building and mentoring a local team, overseeing both subcontractors and internal crews, and serving as the central command for site execution. With long‑term runway for career growth and high visibility in a nationally strategic sector, this position is perfect for builders who thrive on challenge, complexity, and ownership.
Key Responsibilities- Direct the full project lifecycle of a greenfield aviation fueling infrastructure build exceeding $28M.
- Coordinate the efforts of over 20 subcontractors and 1–2 internal construction crews.
- Oversee scheduling, budgeting, procurement, and trade‑specific project documentation across civil, electrical, grading, structural, and fueling systems.
- Lead site activities, serving as the go‑to field representative across internal and external stakeholders.
- Build team accountability and performance culture while assisting in key hiring decisions.
- Ensure full compliance with aviation regulations and protocols within a live airport environment.
- Serve as primary point of contact across all project phases, with future opportunities to stay on for subsequent phases or transition into national project oversight roles.
- 10+ years of experience in commercial or industrial construction project management.
- Demonstrated success leading large, multi‑trade infrastructure projects from ground‑up.
- Experience managing both subcontractors and internal self‑perform teams.
- Adept at managing budgets, schedules, and project execution from cradle to completion.
- Prior experience working on aviation or other highly regulated environments is strongly preferred.
- Self‑starter who thrives in a fast‑paced, hands‑on GC environment.
- Familiarity with airport construction is a plus, though not mandatory.
- Background in general contracting is preferred over owner’s rep experience.
- Competitive base salary (DOE)
- Performance‑based bonus structure tied to project profitability (approx. 5–10%)
- Relocation assistance available for strong out‑of‑area candidates
- Opportunity to transition into a national role post‑project based on performance
- Lead a visible, foundational infrastructure project with national impact
- Join a high‑growth firm with long‑term opportunities across the country
- Be part of a team that builds excellence and promotes from within
- Work on‑site, hands‑on, and be the critical driver of project success
