Role DescriptionThe Estimator is a full‑time, on‑site role based in Boise, position is responsible for reviewing blueprints, plans, and specifications to prepare accurate material take‑offs and cost estimates for residential and commercial building projects. The Estimator will work closely with sales teams, project managers, and customers to clarify project requirements, provide timely quotes, and update estimates as project details change. Daily responsibilities include analyzing project scope, validating quantities, entering data into estimating software, and ensuring pricing aligns with company guidelines and vendor costs.
The role also involves coordinating with purchasing and operations to confirm product availability, lead times, and any substitutions needed. The Estimator will maintain clear documentation, support bid submissions, and help ensure projects are profitable, compliant, and delivered on schedule.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and specifications with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency with basic math, geometry, and measurement, including calculating quantities, dimensions, and material requirements.
- Experience with estimating or construction‑related software and solid skills in MS Excel and other common office applications.
- Strong organizational and time‑management skills, with the ability to handle multiple bids and deadlines simultaneously.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills to collaborate with internal teams, vendors, and customers in a professional manner.
- Knowledge of building materials, construction methods, and industry terminology; experience in lumber, truss, or building supply is a plus.
- Ability to work on‑site in Boise, , in a fast‑paced environment while maintaining accuracy and a safety‑first mindset.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical training or a degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Demonstrated problem‑solving skills, sound judgment, and a commitment to ethical, inclusive, and team‑oriented work practices.
