Construction Estimator
Estimators provide technical estimation of electrical projects from bid preparation through job close out documentation to the customer.
Minimum qualifications include a working knowledge of electrical construction and theory, typically acquired through an electrical training program, two-year technical or business degree, or related field, and five years' experience as an electrical estimator.
Key skills and competencies include excellent human relations skills, conceptual estimates and financial analytical skills, and excellent oral and written communications skills.
Job responsibilities include quantity takeoff, solicitation and review of vendor and subcontractor quotations, review of current material pricing levels, review and estimation of addenda, site visits, review of bid/construction schedules, drafting and submission of proposal documents, following post bid closeout procedures, and attending weekly estimating team meetings.
Preferred qualifications include a construction management degree and experience in the construction industry.
Compensation and benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance, company paid term life insurance and AD&D coverage, 401k retirement plan with employer match and company contribution, PTO accrual of up to 120 hours in a full year, and seven company paid holidays.
Additional information includes the requirement to maintain a valid driver's license, minimal travel (up to 10%), and potential background, credit, MVR, and drug checks.
