Job Summary

Headwaters Construction Company is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Construction Assistant Superintendent to support the successful execution of construction projects from start to finish. The Assistant Superintendent works closely with the Superintendent to coordinate daily field operations, oversee job site activities, and help ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and in accordance with project plans and specifications.

This role plays a key part in maintaining productivity and quality on the job site by assisting with the coordination of subcontractors, labor, materials, and scheduling. The Assistant Superintendent helps direct day‑to‑day construction activities to deliver high‑quality work at the lowest reasonable cost and within project timelines while maintaining the highest safety standards. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and hands‑on, with the ability to anticipate project needs, maintain strong communication with field teams and subcontractors, and support the overall flow of work on site.

A strong commitment to safety, problem‑solving, teamwork, and operational excellence is essential for success in this position.

What You Need
  • 3+ years of experience in construction
  • In-depth knowledge of construction procedures, equipment, and OSHA guidelines
  • Understanding of trades
  • Ability to read drawings, plans, and blueprints
  • Problem‑solving abilities
  • Ability to communicate and lead effectively
  • Ambitious, active, and hardworking
  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management or related field (Preferred)
Responsibilities
  • Assist in the generation and management of a three‑week rolling schedule
  • Assist in conducting and attend weekly coordination meetings
  • Guarantee that standards are met for quality construction
  • Motivate and lead subcontractor tradesmen
  • Provide expertise regarding construction means and methods
  • Generate and monitor a punch list for each subcontractor
  • Maintain a safe construction site at all times
