Assistant Project Manager
Working under general supervision, the Assistant Project Manager collaborates with Project Managers, and Field Management to ensure the successful planning, execution, customer satisfaction, and financial success of small-scale construction projects. This role supports project management functions including financial oversight, subcontractor coordination, and operational decision support.
What You Will Do
- Manage assigned project scopes, coordinating resources, schedules, and subcontractor activities to support successful project execution and financial performance.
- Coordinate and prioritize project activities to maintain schedules and address project issues, exercising independent judgement to escalate or resolve matters impacting project delivery.
- Prepare and evaluate change order estimates and support project cost management by analyzing budget impacts and recommending adjustments as needed.
- Attend in-person and virtual client and field meetings to ensure effective communication.
- Coordinate project management activities including schedule tracking, documentation management, and project communications to ensure alignment with project objectives and timelines.
- Analyze project progress, financial performance, and operational issues, and provide recommendations to Project Managers to support informed project management decisions.
- Contribute to the enhancement of project management processes, tools, and methodologies, identifying opportunities for efficiency improvements and propose actionable solutions.
- Apply familiarity with project cost forecasting and projections.
- Maintain communication with various individuals and departments to ensure deliverables are met.
- Coordinate subcontractor and vendor activities, monitoring performance and addressing issues to maintain project schedule, quality standards, and contractual obligations.
- Monitor and track project changes (e.g. RFIs, design changes) and assist in document control efforts.
- Develop and maintain positive client relationships to contribute to successful project outcomes
- Act as a key liaison between project teams, clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders to facilitate clear and effective communication aligned with project goals.
- Monitors jobsite safety and takes appropriate action to address and correct deficiencies.
- Adhere to the PRIME Safety Program, complying with safety regulations, procedures and safe work practices.
- Maintain a physical presence onsite and regularly visit jobsites to oversee progress and provide assistance to the project management team as needed.

What You Will Need to be Successful
- Bachelor's degree in construction management or related field, and/or three to five years electrical construction industry experience or relevant experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and field experience.
- Experience working with software-based estimating, accounting, scheduling, and project management systems. Knowledge of Accubid preferred.
- Knowledge of electrical trade and/or construction-related background.
- Familiarity with construction cost, scheduling, estimating, and engineering principles and techniques, as well as accounting principles.
- Proficiency in electrical estimating to produce job change orders, evaluate and apply job estimates, and assist with new estimates as required.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, excellent organizational abilities, and effective prioritization skills.
- Strong computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- May supervise or coordinate the work of others who assist in specific assignments
Special Requirements /Physical Demands/
Working Conditions:
Work is primarily performed in an office setting with minimal health or safety hazards. Noise level and temperature is moderate. Minimal lifting or climbing. This position is expected to be fully in-person, onsite, with some travel not limited to, other offices, work sites and local business errands.
