Safety Specialist

If you want to join us on this journey of excellence, we invite you to apply to our Safety Specialist position to support and enhance our safety program across water resource construction projects and our technical service division. This role’s primary responsibility is to support the Safety Director in the implementation of corporate and project-specific safety initiatives to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.

All Construction Division offers of employment are contingent upon the successful completion of a background check and drug screen. In accordance with client requirements, security clearance is required and is determined based on background check results.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist with the implementation and administration of safety programs and policies for the construction and technical service divisions
  • Facilitate the application of the company’s safety recognition programs
  • Support new employee onboarding and orientation requirements
  • Monitor and coordinate employee training completions and renewals
  • Prepare and submit safety reports, metrics, and compliance documentation
  • Audit and maintain EHS data in safety management software
  • Facilitate communication between field personnel, supervisors, and management regarding safety metrics, records, and compliance requirements
  • Assist with safety audits, compliance reviews, and document control
  • Oversee safety asset tracking program
  • Coordinate with suppliers and field teams to support PPE program
  • Support compliance with OSHA and other federal, state, and local safety regulations
  • Collaborate with safety management, project managers, and field supervisors to promote a strong safety culture
  • Perform additional tasks assigned
Qualifications:
  • 1+ years of experience in safety or construction support role
  • Familiarity with OSHA and other safety and environmental regulations
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Effective problem‑solving skills
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Significant knowledge of OSHA standards and safety regulations
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 card (Construction)
  • Associate’s degree, or higher, in Health and Safety or related field
  • Experience with safety management systems, LMS software, or Share Point
  • Experience in construction, utilities, or water resource projects preferred

Compensation Package:
  • Pay Range: $26.44 - $31.25 hr (DOE)
