Site Planner
We are seeking a proactive Site Planner to develop and maintain detailed site-level construction schedules and sequences that ensure safe, on-time delivery of projects. The Site Planner will translate program-level plans into executable site plans, coordinate MEP integration, prepare statements of work, sequence crews and activities, estimate activity durations, and monitor progress using Primavera P6 and other planning tools. This role requires strong construction experience, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate with construction managers, superintendents, subcontractors, and design teams to drive efficient execution on site.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain detailed site-level project schedules and work breakdown structures using Primavera P6 (or equivalent), ensuring alignment with program-level milestones and contract requirements.
- Translate design and contract documents into clear Statements of Work (SOW) for subcontractors and internal crews, ensuring responsibilities and deliverables are well defined.
- Create, validate, and optimize activity sequences and manpower/craft sequencing to maximize productivity and minimize interference between trades.
- Estimate and assign realistic activity durations, float, and lead/lag relationships; perform critical path analysis and schedule risk assessments.
- Coordinate MEP installation sequences with structural and architectural works to prevent clashes and rework; liaise with design and engineering teams to integrate MEP constraints into the schedule.
- Collaborate with site superintendents and project managers to plan daily/weekly look-ahead schedules, resource leveling, and material/equipment mobilization.
- Monitor schedule progress, update forecasts and recovery plans, and produce regular schedule reports for stakeholders highlighting variances, mitigation actions, and impact to milestones.
- Support procurement and construction by providing schedule-driven SOWs, enabling accurate subcontractor pricing and mobilization plans.
- Facilitate schedule review meetings, including preconstruction planning and weekly coordination sessions with subcontractors and client representatives.
- Ensure schedule documentation, baselines, and change logs are maintained; support claims analysis and change management when schedule impacts occur.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum 5 years of site planning/scheduling experience on construction projects, preferably including commercial, industrial, or infrastructure work.
- Proven proficiency with Primavera P6 for schedule creation, maintenance, and reporting; familiarity with MS Project and common schedule analysis techniques.
- Hands-on experience coordinating MEP scope of work and integrating MEP sequencing into site schedules.
- Demonstrated ability to write clear Statements of Work (SOW) and use them to drive subcontractor scope and execution.
- Experience sequencing crews, defining manpower requirements, and estimating realistic activity durations.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to perform critical path analysis, resource leveling, and schedule risk assessments.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; comfortable facilitating coordination meetings and presenting schedule information to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Familiarity with construction safety requirements, site logistics planning, and quality control processes.
- Professional certifications such as PSP, PMP, or relevant planning credentials are a plus; BIM coordination experience is advantageous.
