Summary:
A leading electrical contractor is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support the successful delivery of commercial and industrial construction projects in Idaho. This is an excellent opportunity for a Project Engineer or Assistant Project Manager looking to take the next step in their career and develop into a full Project Manager through hands-on mentorship and training.
Working closely with senior project leadership, you will assist in managing projects from pre-construction through closeout, helping oversee budgeting, scheduling, procurement, documentation, subcontractor coordination, and project controls. The role offers exposure to all aspects of project delivery while providing a clear progression path into project management.
The Assistant Project Manager will be responsible for:
- Supporting project execution from bid award through project closeout
- Assisting with budgeting, cost tracking, forecasting, and reporting
- Coordinating subcontractors, vendors, and material procurement
- Managing RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation
- Supporting manpower planning and project scheduling activities
- Working with field teams to maintain safety, quality, and productivity standards
- Assisting with project billing and cash flow management
- Participating in project meetings with clients, field teams, and internal stakeholders
The Assistant Project Manager should have the following qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred
- Alternatively, completion of an electrical apprenticeship program
- 2+ years of experience in a Project Engineer or Assistant Project Manager role
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Experience with in electrical or construction environments preferred
