Uprite Construction is seeking an Associate Estimator to join our growing Preconstruction team in Boise, Idaho. You MUST live within a commutable distance to this location to be considered.
This role is ideal for an estimator who has already gained experience estimating commercial construction projects while working for a commercial general contractor and is ready to continue developing within a collaborative and fast paced environment.
The Junior Estimator will work closely with Senior Estimators and Preconstruction Managers to prepare accurate estimates, perform quantity takeoffs, evaluate subcontractor proposals, and support the preconstruction process from conceptual budgeting through final bid submission.
What You'll Do:- Assist with preparing conceptual and detailed construction estimates
- Perform quantity takeoffs from drawings and specifications
- Solicit, review, and analyze subcontractor and supplier proposals
- Prepare bid packages and scope comparisons
- Review plans, specifications, and contract documents
- Support value engineering efforts throughout preconstruction
- Maintain subcontractor relationships and assist with bid leveling
- Participate in preconstruction meetings with internal teams
- Assist with project budgeting and estimate updates throughout design
- Coordinate with Operations to ensure a smooth project handoff after award
- Maintain organized estimating files and documentation
- Continuously develop estimating knowledge and construction expertise
- 2 or more years of commercial construction estimating experience
- Must have estimating experience working directly for a commercial general contractor
- Experience estimating ground up commercial construction projects preferred
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline driven environment
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
