Position Summary
The Worship Director provides leadership, vision, and coordination for the worship ministry of the church. This individual is responsible for planning and leading engaging, Christ-centered worship services that support the church's mission and help people grow in their relationship with God. The Worship Director recruits, develops, and shepherds volunteers while fostering a culture of excellence, authenticity, and spiritual growth within the worship team.
Position Type: Part-Time
Reports To: Lead Pastor
Hours: Approximately 10-20 hours per week (adjust as needed)
Compensation is commensurate with experience, qualifications, and the church's budget.
Qualifications
- A growing and active personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
- Agreement with the church's statement of faith and mission.
- Experience leading worship in a church setting.
- Strong vocal and instrumental abilities.
- Ability to lead both musicians and congregation with confidence and humility.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with worship planning software (i.e. planning center) and presentation tools (i.e. Pro Presenter) is preferred.
- Ability to recruit, train, and develop volunteers.

Key Responsibilities
Worship Planning & Leadership
- Work closely with pastoral staff to create worship experiences that align with sermon themes and church vision.
- Plan and lead worship for weekly services and special church events.
- Select songs, readings, and other worship elements that are biblically sound and spiritually meaningful.
- Lead a weekly rehearsal to prepare worship team members for services.
- Ensure worship-related equipment, instruments, and technology are maintained and functioning properly.
- Work with audio, visual, and livestream teams to support worship services.
Volunteer Development
- Recruit, train, schedule, and mentor worship team volunteers, including musicians, vocalists, and technical team members.
- Foster spiritual growth, teamwork, and excellence among ministry participants.
- Provide regular feedback, encouragement, and support to team members.
Ministry Leadership
- Develop and communicate a clear vision for the worship ministry.
- Cultivate an atmosphere of authentic worship and congregational participation.
- Participate in staff meetings and ministry planning as requested.
- Support church-wide events and special services throughout the year.
