Description
The Public Employee Retirement System of Idaho (PERSI) is seeking a Customer Service Representative for the Answer Center in Boise. This full-time, Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. role handles over-the-phone member inquiries and provides information from available resources and reference materials.
PositionMember Services Representative. This is a full-time role located in Boise with benefits. The successful candidate will be the first point of contact when members call our office and will perform over-the-phone customer service as part of PERSI s Answer Center.

- Provide information on a wide range of topics from available resources and reference materials.
- Determine appropriate referral and disposition of non-routine calls and questions.
- Maintain records and perform routine clerical functions.
- Document interactions and navigate multiple data entry systems and related applications while speaking on the phone.
- Distribute mail and deliveries.
- Work efficiently, multi-task, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Some knowledge of interviewing methods, typically gained through at least six months of professional interviewing experience or college coursework related to interviewing methods.
- Experience interpreting, explaining, and applying regulations, laws, or complex policies to carry out assignments (typically at least one year).
- Experience accessing data using a computerized system (at least six months of full-time work or related college coursework).
- Experience independently handling complaints and upset individuals in a business setting (at least six months).
- Experience conducting sensitive fact-finding interviews (at least one year) in contexts such as credit collection, law enforcement, financial institutions, or social service programs.
