Job Description & How to Apply Below

Boise, United States

Maverick Car Company is not your typical dealership.

We believe servicing a vehicle should feel just as good as buying one from us. That means being honest about what a vehicle needs, communicating clearly, following through on what we promise, and treating every client like a person; not a repair order.

Our Retail Service Team is a big part of that experience.

We're looking for a Retail Service Advisor who genuinely enjoys people and understands that great service is about more than selling maintenance and repairs. It's about building trust, making complicated things easier to understand, and becoming someone our clients know they can count on.

If you love building relationships, communicating with people, solving problems, and creating an experience that makes clients want to come back to Maverick, this could be a great fit.

The Role

As a Retail Service Advisor, you'll be the primary point of contact between our clients and our Service Team
.

You'll help clients understand what their vehicle needs, coordinate the work with our technicians, keep clients informed throughout the process, and make sure the experience from check-in to pickup feels organized, transparent, and professional.

You're not simply managing repair orders.

You're managing relationships.

That means knowing when to pick up the phone, when to send an update, when to slow down and explain something, and when to simply listen.

What You'll Do
  • Build genuine, long-term relationships with Maverick service clients
  • Welcome clients and create a professional, comfortable service experience
  • Listen carefully to client concerns and understand what they're experiencing with their vehicle
  • Translate technician findings and vehicle inspections into clear, understandable recommendations
  • Build and manage accurate repair orders
  • Communicate recommended maintenance and repairs without pressure or unnecessary upselling
  • Provide clear estimates and obtain appropriate approvals
  • Keep clients proactively informed throughout the repair process
  • Coordinate closely with technicians, parts, vendors, and other team members
  • Monitor vehicle progress and communicate changes or delays before the client has to ask
  • Handle questions, concerns, and unexpected situations with professionalism and ownership
  • Review completed work with clients and ensure they understand what was done
  • Follow up with clients after service when appropriate
  • Identify opportunities to improve the client experience and service process
  • Help create an organized, efficient, and positive Service Department
What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who is great with people and serious about follow-through.

You should bring:

  • Strong customer service and relationship-building skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • The ability to explain automotive repairs clearly to people who may not be automotive experts
  • Strong organization and attention to detail
  • The ability to manage multiple clients and priorities at once
  • Confidence having conversations about vehicle repairs and cost
  • Strong follow-through and personal accountability
  • A calm, professional approach when things don't go according to plan
  • A team-first mentality

Previous automotive service advisor experience is preferred
, but we're ultimately looking for someone who understands what exceptional client service looks like and has the ability to learn the technical side of the role.

What Great Looks Like

The best Service Advisors don't wait for clients to ask what's happening.

They communicate before they're asked.

They don't overwhelm clients with automotive terminology.

They make complicated things easy to understand.

They don't push unnecessary work.

They build trust by recommending what's genuinely in the client's best interest.

They don't pass…
