This role supports project delivery from conceptual design through construction, including design development, consultant coordination, BIM integration, construction documentation, and construction administration support.

As an Intermediate Architect, you will collaborate with project managers, senior architects, engineers, and clients to develop creative, technically sound, and buildable design solutions. You will contribute to the development of architectural concepts, BIM models, construction documents, visualizations, and project deliverables while helping ensure quality, coordination, and technical excellence throughout project execution.

Our work spans a variety of market sectors, including advanced technology facilities, healthcare, higher education, corporate workplace, municipal, civic, facility design, and science & research projects, serving both local and national clients. This role is ideal for an architect who enjoys both the creative and technical aspects of design and wants to grow within a collaborative multidisciplinary environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in projects from conceptual design through construction administration.
  • Support development of architectural concepts, design studies, space planning efforts, and project presentations.
  • Develop and maintain BIM models and architectural construction documents using Revit and AutoCAD.
  • Prepare plans, elevations, sections, wall sections, schedules, details, specifications, and project documentation.
  • Create renderings, visualizations, graphics, and presentation materials that effectively communicate design intent.
  • Coordinate architectural documents with structural, mechanical, electrical, civil, and specialty consultants.
  • Support project teams during design development, construction documentation, bidding, and construction administration phases.
  • Assist with code analysis, accessibility requirements, and technical documentation.
  • Conduct field observations and assist with site documentation and project coordination activities.
  • Review RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, and other construction-phase documentation.
  • Coordinate material selections, finish information, and product data with consultants, vendors, and project teams.
  • Participate in quality reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of project delivery processes.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, planners, project managers, and clients to deliver high-quality project outcomes.

Why Join Jacobs Cities & Places?

  • Work on meaningful projects that help shape communities throughout the Northwest.
  • Collaborate with architects, planners, engineers, and project leaders across diverse market sectors.
  • Be part of an integrated, multidisciplinary team that values design excellence, technical rigor, innovation, and delivery excellence.
  • Contribute to projects in advanced technology, healthcare, education, municipal, and science & research markets.
  • Grow your design, BIM, and project delivery skills while working alongside experienced professionals.
