At Jacobs, we're challenging today to reinvent tomorrow by solving the world's most critical problems for thriving cities, resilient environments, mission-critical outcomes, operational advancement, scientific discovery and cutting-edge manufacturing, turning abstract ideas into realities that transform the world for good.
We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Architectural BIM/CADD Technician (Project Delivery Focus) to join our Cities and Places team in Northwest geography based out of Boise, Idaho and Bellevue, WA.
If you have a passion for multidisciplinary design and BIM-driven project delivery and thrive in highly collaborative environments where design coordination and technical documentation are essential, bring your creativity, technical expertise, and problem-solving mindset and help us deliver impactful, buildable solutions.
This role offers the opportunity to support multidisciplinary project teams by developing and maintaining BIM models, producing construction documentation, and assisting with project coordination efforts. Working closely with project managers, architects, engineers, and BIM leaders, you will help ensure accurate, coordinated, and high-quality project deliverables throughout all phases of design and delivery. You will play an important role in developing detailed BIM models and construction drawings with a primary focus on architectural systems while supporting coordination across multiple disciplines.
What You'll Do – BIM Modeling & Project Delivery
- Develop and maintain accurate BIM models in accordance with project requirements, standards, and design intent.
- Produce high-quality construction documentation, including plans, elevations, sections, details, schedules, and associated drawing packages.
- Prepare and revise drawing sets throughout schematic design, design development, construction documentation, and construction administration phases.
- Assist with BIM model setup and maintenance, including worksets, templates, families, collaboration settings, and project standards.
- Generate 2D drawings and project documentation directly from BIM models and CAD-based project files, as required by project delivery standards.
- Support multidisciplinary coordination efforts and participate in model reviews and clash detection activities using Revit, Navisworks, and Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC).
- Coordinate project information with project architects, engineers, consultants, and project team members to support design integration.
- Maintain BIM content, CAD standards, libraries, and project templates to support consistent project delivery.
- Perform quality control reviews of models and drawings to help ensure compliance with project requirements and company standards.
- Support implementation of project BIM Execution Plans (BEPs) and established BIM workflows.
- Extract model information and quantities to support project planning, design evaluation, and cost estimation efforts.
- Support consultant model coordination and BIM data exchange activities to facilitate project collaboration.
- Utilize available BIM tools and automation workflows to improve project efficiency and model quality.
- Collaborate closely with project architects, engineers, contractors, and project managers to support design coordination and constructability objectives.
- Assist with construction-phase coordination activities, including review of RFIs, submittals, and field-related design questions.
- Assist project teams with building code research, code compliance reviews, and preparation of documentation supporting permitting and regulatory approval processes.
- Assist in the development and coordination of specifications, material research, finish schedules, and product documentation to maintain alignment between BIM models, construction documents, and project requirements.
- Prepare renderings, visualizations, and model-based presentations to support project communication and client engagement.
- Stay current with BIM software developments, emerging technologies, and industry best practices relevant to project delivery.
