Your impact

We are seeking a Senior Architectural Designer based out of Boise, to join our Northwest Cities & Places team. In this role, you will support architectural project teams through all phases of project delivery, from conceptual design through construction administration, while providing technical leadership in BIM-enabled design, documentation, and multidisciplinary coordination.

As a Senior Architectural Designer
, you will play a key role in the development and execution of architectural projects across a variety of market sectors, including industrial facilities, advanced technology, science and research, higher education, municipal, workplace, transportation, and industrial facilities. You will lead production efforts, coordinate with engineers and consultants, develop and maintain BIM models, and help ensure designs are translated into accurate, coordinated, and buildable construction documentation.

This position is ideal for an experienced designer who thrives in collaborative environments, enjoys solving complex technical challenges, and is comfortable taking ownership of major project components while mentoring junior staff.

You will work closely with architects, project managers, engineers, contractors, and clients to deliver innovative, high-quality solutions that meet project goals, schedule requirements, and client expectations.

Responsibilities of a Senior Architectural Designer are, but not limited to

Lead architectural design and documentation efforts on complex projects from concept through construction.
Develop, coordinate, and maintain BIM models and drawing packages using Revit and related digital delivery tools.
Serve as a design package lead for assigned project scopes and deliverables.
Coordinate architectural work with structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, civil, and specialty consultants.
Prepare and review construction documents for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project requirements.
Apply building code requirements, design standards, and client criteria to project documentation.
Participate in quality reviews and interdisciplinary coordination meetings.
Support construction administration activities, including RFIs, submittal reviews, field investigations, and resolution of construction issues.
Develop visualizations, presentations, and design communication materials to support project development and client engagement.
Mentor junior designers and BIM/CADD staff in project workflows, technical documentation, and BIM best practices.
Support continuous improvement of architectural standards, BIM workflows, and project delivery processes.

Here's what you'll need

5+ years of professional architectural design and production experience.
Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Interior Architecture, Architectural Technology, or related field.
Advanced proficiency in Revit for architectural documentation and BIM coordination.
Experience developing construction documents across multiple project phases.
Experience coordinating multidisciplinary design teams on complex projects.
Strong understanding of building systems, construction methods, architectural detailing, and design documentation.
Experience with construction administration activities including RFIs, submittals, and field coordination.
Working knowledge of applicable building codes and industry standards.
Ability to independently manage multiple assignments and meet project deadlines.
Proficiency with AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office applications.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.

Ideally, you'll also have

Experience delivering advanced technology, semiconductor, manufacturing, biopharma, or other complex facility projects.
Experience leading architectural design packages on large-scale projects.
Familiarity with Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), BIM 360, Navisworks, or Revizto.
Experience creating architectural visualizations using Sketch Up, Lumion, Photoshop, Illustrator, or similar tools.
Understanding of BIM coordination, LOD requirements, and model-based project delivery.
Experience supporting permitting activities and regulatory reviews.
