Position: Youth Employment Intern - STEM Ambassador
Summary Statement

The Youth Employment Intern position offers youth aged 14-19, who are currently enrolled in high school or an equivalent program (Grades9th-12th), a hands-on opportunity to explore and teach STEM topics. Candidates with a genuine interest in STEM will find this role both enjoyable and educational. Interns are required to commit a minimum of 100 hours-20 hours of training and 80 hours of teaching-before May 2026.

Transportation services may be available to support interns in traveling to and from work, ensuring a smooth and accessible experience.

Hours per Week

8-19 hours per week. Schedule will include working weekdays after school and occasional weekends.

Essential Functions

* Assist staff and program supervisor with Youth Recreation Program activities

* Supervision of youth 8-12 years of age during an after-school program

* Prepare educational and recreational supplies prior to activities

* Assist with the maintenance and cleaning of a neighborhood community center

* Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

* This individual must be a minimum of 14 years of age and currently enrolled in a formal high school education program, or its equivalent (Grades9th-12th).

* Must be able to pass a criminal background check and pre-employment drug screening, and possess (or be able to obtain) a CPR/First Aid certification.

* This position requires the ability to interact with the public and co-workers in a friendly and professional manner. Employee must be able to work independently with limited supervision.

Superior Candidate:

* The superior candidate will have 1 year experience working with elementary age youth.
